14 Bolt Steering Axle Assembly with Reid Super Kingpin outers (Rockwell size knuckle)

The BKOR SUPER 14 BOLT axle is the strongest way to build a steering 14 bolt.  We combine a 14 bolt center section with Reid Super Kingpin Cs and outer knuckles.  This combination allows the use of 35 spline shafts with 1480 joints or 40 spline axles with rockwell sized u-joints and MASSIVE 2-3/8" outer stub shafts.   

This 14 bolt axle trumps the Dana 60 in strength due to its larger ring and pinion gear and a 3rd bearing on the snout of the pinion that keeps gear deflection down. 

Some of the biggest players in the offroad game have chosen the 14 bolt for its simplicity in gear set-up and brute strength.  Racers and trail riders know the 14 bolt will take a straight beat down and keep going.  This axle is what we recommend for guys running up to 800hp.

OFFSETS: This is a steering axle. The widths we offer are based on factory axle shaft length combinations. The standard driver and passenger side offsets we offer are designed to work in most buggies.  If you need a specific offset for your axle we can build it to your specifications. There are tons of options on how we can build your axle.  If you do not see your configuration please give us a call and we can custom build whatever you desire. 

KNUCKLES AND Cs : This "SUPER 14 BOLT" axle comes with Reid Super Kingpin Cs and knuckles.  We offer a set of custom billet high steer arms for them which require machining of the knuckles to key them on for maximum strength.

SPOOLS/LOCKERS:  We offer 35 spline, and 40 spline spools and lockers for 14 bolt axles.  Spools are the strongest option.  Mechanical lockers will allow the vehicle to turn better when not on the throttle but are not as strong and are more aggressive on axle shafts.  Selectable lockers are the best of both worlds.  They allow for better turning when off and act like a spool when engaged.  Selectable lockers are the most expensive option and have a higher potential for failure than a spool  

RING AND PINION GEARS: Yukon ring and pinion gears are used standard in our axle assembly.  We also have USA gear, Motive gear, Nitro gear, and Factory GM pull-out gears. Newer style ribbed housings have install kits that are slightly more expensive.  

YOKES: We only offer forged u-bolt style yokes for 14 bolt axles.  Dont be tricked into using a cast yoke that has been drilled to accept u-bolts.  The yokes we carry are MANY times stronger than our competition and are available in 1350, 1410, 1480, and rockwell pattern flange yoke styles. 

SEALS: 14 bolt axles never had seals at the differential.  When building a steering axle seals will need to be installed inside the axle tube.  We use a seal housing that has multiple dual-lip seals inline to keep oil in the differential and dirt out out of your gears.  

DIFF COVERS: 14 bolts have a big lip on them that KILL ground clearance.  Choose one of our lifetime replacement 3/8 plate diff covers that allow 1-3/8" additional ground clearance.  We can cut the lip off the differential for you (shave) or you can do it yourself 

PINION GUARD: We offer our Busted knuckle Pinion guard that has a 3/8" flange and guard with a 1/4" axle truss tie-in.  

AXLE TRUSS: Our standard axle truss is built with 2.5" x 2.5" x 3/16" square tubing. This truss has been installed on 1600+hp rigs with no failures.

UNIT BEARINGS:  We use a tried and true unit bearings that have been tested through YEARS of 1000+ horsepower beat downs.  They come drilled with 8 on 170mm and 8 on 6.5" bolt patterns.  

DRIVE FLANGES/LOCKOUTS: If you are using 35 spline axles the outer stubs will utilize a 35 spline drive flange.  If you are running 40 spline axles the stub shaft will be 2-3/8" and spline directly into the unit bearing.  

BRAKES: We have our lightweight brake kit that utilizes a light weight factory rotor and a wilwood calipers as the standard brake option.  We also have a super light weight brake kit that utilizes branik brake rotors and hats with wilwood calipers as an upgrade.
