CURE TIME / TEMPERATURE:

**PRODUCT WILL NOT CURE AT TEMPERATURES BELOW 60°F**

Substrate temperature and ambient temperature correspond to cure time and repair hardness.  As you increase temperature you reduce cure time and increase product hardness.  Through testing we have found that temperatures between 100deg and 130deg give the best balance for curing time and harness.

DIRECTIONS

  1. Evaluate the tire injury. If the injury is within repairable limits, proceed.
  2. Take extra precaution to ensure the repair is made on a tire that is absolutely clean and free of mold releasing agents, grease, dirt, or any other contaminate before Tire must be dry.
  3. Remove damaged cord and rubber using a skive, rasp, and TIRE grinding wheel. A grinding wheel specifically made for tire repair can be purchased from BustedKnuckleOffroad.com.  Round the edges of the injury.  Do not leave sharp edges.  Leave only solid, undamaged rubber at the sides of the opening.  Do not use a regular grinding wheel as the rubber will melt under the wheel and stop adhesion of the primer.
  4. Clean inside and outside of the tire around the injury at least 1” removing all dust and rubber from grinding.
  5. Spread a generous coat of Vulcanizing Cement over the prepared area, both inside and out. Primer must be dry to the touch before vulcanizing compound can be applied.
  6. Remove EQUAL parts of both A and B compounds. Reseal cans tightly. DO NOT INTERCHANGE CAN LIDS!
  7. Mix A and B compounds together until mixture obtains a uniform color and texture. If mixing with your hands, it is advised to use gloves.
  8. Spread mixture into a thin sheet (1/8”, 3mm) allowing solvents to evaporate for at least 30 minutes and air pockets to dissipate.
  9. Press compound mixture into prepared injury. Stitch and pack thoroughly. Avoid gaps and air pockets. It is necessary that the compound be used inside and outside of the tire to create a repair that “sandwiches” the injury.  Build the area 1/4” above and below the surface of the tire.
  10. Use a heat lamp or shop light to raise the temperature of the repair between 100deg and 130deg. Repairs should take between 12 and 18 hours to cure.  Once cured the tire can be returned to service.
